Respiratory Gating for Scanners 2.1 tracks breathing to synchronize diagnostic image acquisition. A camera detects motion of four reflective markers on a block positioned on the patient’s chest or abdomen.
The system sends trigger signals at selected breathing amplitudes or phases for prospective acquisition and supplies continuous amplitude and phase data for retrospective four-dimensional imaging. Compatible CT or PET/CT scanners use this information to coordinate acquisition.
Position Reference
The system includes a workstation, real-time unit, camera and required reflector block, with optional wireless visual coaching. It can also monitor patient position during imaging, and the acquired respiratory pattern can serve radiotherapy planning.
