The XACT ACE Robot positions and advances compatible instruments during CT-guided percutaneous procedures. It rests on the patient and forms part of the XACT ACE Robotic System. The robot follows a planned trajectory while the physician controls advancement with a foot pedal.
The robot contains a positioning unit and insertion module assembly. It works with a separate console that provides image-based trajectory planning, system controls and review of instrument position. Registration relates the robot’s coordinate system to the CT images before guided advancement.
Procedure Workflow
The physician advances the instrument through planned checkpoints and reviews its position using CT images. The system can also monitor respiratory motion during the procedure. Compatible instruments and the appropriate insertion kit are required for positioning and steering.
