The MRIdian Linac System combines magnetic-resonance imaging with radiation delivery for stereotactic radiosurgery and precision radiotherapy. It is intended for lesions, tumors and other conditions anywhere in the body where radiation treatment is indicated. MRI provides real-time image guidance during delivery of ionizing radiation.
Three subsystems work together: treatment planning and delivery, magnetic-resonance imaging, and radiation-therapy delivery. A 6 MV linear accelerator supplies the treatment beam, while a 0.345 tesla superconducting MRI system supplies the guidance images.
Beam Shaping
A 138-leaf multileaf collimator shapes the radiation field. Its two leaf stacks are offset to give a nominal effective leaf width of 0.415 cm at the isocentre. The imaging system has a 50 cm diameter spherical field of view, and the patient couch supports shifts in three dimensions.

Recalls
5 of these are Class II. Class II means a temporary or reversible health consequence. Volume alone is not a quality signal: a manufacturer that ships more recalls more.
