These nonrotatable polypectomy snares remove or cauterize gastrointestinal polyps and tissue through an endoscope. A three-ring handle moves a flexible cable and wire loop into or out of an outer sheath.
The loop delivers monopolar electrical current for cutting and cauterization. The standard SNC models are distinct from the rotational SNR versions in the wider family, so handle-driven 360-degree rotation is not a feature of these nonrotatable models.
Loop Shapes and Sizes
Standard models include oval, hexagonal, crescent and round loops. The listed crescent SNC models have a 2.4 mm maximum sheath diameter, with 15, 25 or 32 mm loop openings and 1800 or 2400 mm effective lengths. Snares are supplied ethylene oxide sterilized for single use, one per pouch.
